Box Score

INDIANA, PA – Stars shined under the bright lights of Miller Stadium Monday night as 11 different Crimson Hawks scored in the IUP lacrosse team's 24-2 win over Notre Dame College. The 24 goals are the third-most in IUP history and the most since the 2007 season.

It would not take long for the Crimson Hawks to take control, as Alexa Lodovici (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Regional) scored a pair of goals just three minutes into the game to give IUP an early 2-0 lead. The Crimson Hawks would add three more goals before Notre Dame finally broke through at the 20:41 mark in the first half.

After Colleen Berlin (Baltimore, MD/Institute of Notre Dame) and Beth Glasshagel (Coram, NY/Newfield) both notched goals to give IUP a 7-1 lead, the Falcons would respond with another goal to pull within five with 17:00 to play in the period.

That would be the last blemish for IUP, however, as the Crimson Hawks would rip off 17 unanswered goals to put the game out of reach.  Stephanie Bianco (King of Prussia/Upper Merion) had three goals in the run, while Lodovici, Becca Vogt (Hamburg, NY/Frontier), Lillienne Kane (Mechanicsburg/Cumberland Valley) and Paige Corathers (Cranberry Twp./Seneca Valley) all had two goals.

Not to overlooked in the offensive showcase by the Crimson Hawks was the outstanding goaltending from Chlesey Hipp and Katherine Davis. Hipp allowed just two goals and had four saves in the first half, while Davis kept the Falcons scoreless and notched two saves in the second half.

Lodovici had a game-high nine points on four goals and five assists, while Bianco tallied four goals as well. Berlin finished with three goals and an assist, while Glasshagel, Kane, Vogt, Corathers and Alex Edwards (Bethlehem/Nazareth) all chipped in two goals. Corinne Miller (Hamburg, NY/Frontier), Sarah Ward (Murrysville/Franklin Regional ) and Michelle Zakrzewski (Purcellville, VA/Loudoun Valley) rounded out the scoring with a goal apiece.

With the win, the Crimson Hawks improve to 5-1 on the early season and will take a five-game win streak into Friday's matchup with Bloomsburg at Miller Stadium. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
