LOCK HAVEN, PA - Knotted at 6-6 with under two minutes to play in regulation, Lauren Glassey netted the game-winning goal to vault West Chester over the IUP lacrosse team in the semifinals of the 2013 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament Friday.

The loss likely marks the end of the best season in program history for the Crimson Hawks, who finish with a 13-3 overall record. The 13 wins bests the old school record of 11, which was set in 2011 and tied in 2012. The Crimson Hawks also opened the year with 11 straight victories, the best winning streak in program history.

The Crimson Hawks mustered just two goals in the second half en route to a season-low six goals for the contest. IUP entered the PSAC championship ranked fifth in Division II with 17.0 points per game.

Trailling 2-1 midway through the first half, Sarah Ward (Murrysville/Franklin Regional ) and Alex Edwards (Bethlehem/Nazareth) netted back-to-back goals to give the Crimson Hawks a 3-2 lead with 5:40 to play in the period. Jamie Dolan would score for the Golden Rams just moments later to draw even at 3-3, but an Amy Weinberg (Clarksville, MD/Atholton) goal with just 24 seconds remaining in the half would give IUP a 4-3 lead at the break.

The Crimson Hawks would extend their lead to two just two minutes into the second stanza thanks to a Drew Hayden (Gibsonia/Pine Richland) goal, but West Chester would tally the next three goals to take a 6-5 lead with 11:06 to play.

The Golden Rams advantage would hold until the 2:14 mark of the second period, when Hayden netted her second goal of the half to tie it at 6-6. The game would not stay tied for long, however, as Glassey found the back of the net with just 1:40 remaining to send West Chester to the PSAC Championship game for the 12th time in the last 13 years.

Glassey and Dolan each finished with a pair of goals on five shots Friday, while Tori Dugan posted two goals and an assist. Hayden paced the Crimson Hawks with two goals on five shots, while Weinberg finished with a goal and an assist. Kaitlin Sterling (Cranberry Twp./Seneca Valley) played the entire game in the net for IUP and had seven saves.

With the win, the Golden Rams move on to face top-seeded Lock Haven in the PSAC Championship game Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The Bald Eagles advanced to the final after defeating Bloomsburg 6-5 in Friday's first semifinal matchup.
