CICERO, N.Y. – IUP men's golf fired a three-over 291 in the second round, wrapping up Le Moyne's Fall Invitational in fourth place this weekend at the Lake Shore Yacht and Country Club.
The 291 was the best round of the season for the Crimson Hawks, who saw three golfers shoot an even-par 72 in Saturday's second round. IUP finished the two-day tournament with a 14-over 590.
Senior
Joshua Bartley (Valencia, Pa./Mars) was one of those, as he finished with an even-par 144 for the tournament. His score was seven strokes back of the individual winner – Matt Paradis of Southern New Hampshire, seven-under 137 – as he tied for ninth overall out of 106 golfers. It was Bartley's second top-10 finish of the fall.
Junior
Matt Cocorikis (Monroe Twp., N.J./Monroe Twp.) also shot even on Saturday and finished tied for 18th with a three-over 147. Senior
Michael Hoare (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) followed in a tie for 21st with a four-over 148. Sophomore
Jeremy Eckenrode (Ebensburg, Pa./Central Cambria) tied for 37th with an eight-over 152, firing the third even-par 72 on Saturday. Classmate Nathan Guerrini wrapped up IUP's finishers in a tie for 68th with a 13-over 157.
Laval (Quebec) University won the highly competitive tournament with a six-under 570, shooting a six-under 276 in the second round. Rollins finished three strokes back in second, while host Le Moyne was third, 17 strokes back of the winners and three in front of the Crimson Hawks.
IUP was the top finishing Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) team this weekend. West Chester tied for ninth and Millersville was 11th, putting up scores of 611 and 613, respectively. Bartley and Millersville' Connor Sheehan were the top PSAC individuals with their ninth place finishes.

This was the final tune-up for the Crimson Hawks, who will defend their conference title at next weekend's 2017 PSAC Golf Championships in Hershey. The two round tournament will take place October 21-22 at the Hershey Country Club.
