HERSHEY, Pa. – IUP senior
Joshua Bartley (Valencia, Pa./Mars) entered the clubhouse tied for first overall as the Crimson Hawks wrapped up the opening round of the 2017 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Men's Golf Championships at Hershey Country Club East Course on Saturday.

Bartley and Millersville's Connor Sheehan each shot a one-over 72 in the opening round. He's one of four IUP golfers sitting in the top 14 individually, including
Matt Cocorikis (Monroe Twp., N.J./Monroe Twp.) and
Nate Guerrini (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) in a tie for seventh at five-over, and
Jeremy Eckenrode (Ebensburg, Pa./Central Cambria) in a tie for 14th at seven-over.
The Crimson Hawks are second as a team with an 18-over 302 and trail tournament leader California (Pa.) by three strokes. Millersville is four strokes back of IUP while West Chester is 10 strokes back.
IUP is going for its first back-to-back conference titles since winning six straight from 2007-12. It would also be the 28th PSAC championship in program history.
The second and final round continues on Sunday morning. IUP's first tee time is set for 11:03 a.m.
