WHEELING, W.Va. – The IUP men's golf team finished fifth overall at West Liberty University's Oglebay Resort Intercollegiate, played Sunday on the Palmer Course of the Speidel Golf Club. The tournament was originally scheduled for two rounds, but the second was canceled Monday morning after a late night snow fall.
The Crimson Hawks finished with an 18-over 302, nine strokes back of tournament winner Charleston (293). Wheeling Jesuit (295) was second, Malone (296) was third, and West Chester (299) finished three strokes ahead of IUP in fourth.
Matt Cocorikis (Monroe Twp., N.J./Monroe Twp.) was IUP's top finisher, firing a one-over 72 to tie for fifth out of 96 golfers.
Joshua Bartley (Valencia, Pa./Mars) also finished in the top 20, as he tied for 16th with a three-over 74.
Also competing for IUP were Jeremey Eckenrode and
Michael Hoare (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) with a seven-over 78, Nathan Guerrini with an 11-over 82, and
Tyler Erb (Toronto, ON, Canada/Etobicoke Collegiate Institute) with a 13-over 84.

The Crimson Hawks will head to the Penn Oaks Golf Club in West Chester for the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational next Monday and Tuesday.
