LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – IUP men's golf freshman
Alex Swinnerton repeated as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Men's Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday afternoon.
Swinnerton had another strong showing over 36 holes at Mount Olive's Trojan Invitational, held March 27-28 in North Carolina. The Saskatchewan, Canada native jumped one spot to a tie for third overall in the tournament, carding rounds of 72, 70 and 72.
Swinnerton led the field in average scoring on par five holes (4.42), shooting a combined seven under across the tournament on par fives, also leading the field with 14 birdies.
It marks the second consecutive week Swinnerton has earned the league's weekly honor after guiding the Crimson Hawks at the Hargett Memorial Invitational. IUP returns to the course on April 3-4 for the Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational, hosted by West Chester.
