INDIANA, Pa. – The IUP department of athletics landed six student-athletes on the 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® At Large team, the organization announced Wednesday afternoon.
The CSC Academic All-America® At Large Program recognizes student-athletes within the following sports offered at IUP: men's golf, field hockey and women's lacrosse. The 2022-23 Academic All-District® At Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the playing surface and in the classroom.
Jackson Buccigross (men's golf; business administration),
Shaun Fedor (men's golf; marketing),
Maggie Marsteller (women's lacrosse; marketing),
Kathryn Burke (women's lacrosse; geography),
Amanda Zaner (field hockey; international studies),
Emily Opshinsky (field hockey; criminology) and
Blaise Cugini (field hockey; early childhood education/special education) were all among the IUP honorees.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on June 21 for men and June 22 for women's nominees.
