LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — IUP senior defender Rachel Knight continued her standout season, earning Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Women's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week honors.
Knight recorded seven caused turnovers and seven ground balls in IUP's game against Seton Hill, ranking third in the conference in caused turnovers and sixth in ground balls.
The honor marks Knight's first of the season and the second weekly award earned by an IUP women's lacrosse player this year.
Against Seton Hill, Knight was tasked with defending the Griffins' top attacker in a back-and-forth contest. She limited her assignment to just two points, well below the player's average of five per game.
IUP will travel to Gannon on Wednesday for a key PSAC West matchup.
