Senior pole vaulter DJ Horton and senior right-handed pitcher Jeff Allen were named the IUP Athletes of the Week, announced by the IUP Sports Information Office Monday.
 
Horton broke his own school record and set new personal record by clearing 5.21 meters at the Kent State Tune-Up meet Saturday. He earned both a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) and a NCAA qualifying mark.
 
Horton earned first place in the event with his mark which tied for the fifth highest in all NCAA Division II for the indoor season.
 
Allen improved to 2-0 in his second start of the season as IUP Baseball defeated Le Moyne in the second game of their doubleheader Saturday. He had a no-hitter through 4.1 innings before allowing a homerun in the fifth inning. In his two starts, he has allowed a combined two earned runs over 10.2 innings (1.69 ERA) with 14 strikeouts.
