IUP Athletic Hall of Fame
Dr. David Hoff is the recipient of the IUP Hall of Fame honorary award in recognition of his longtime support of the university's athletic programs, in particular football, basketball and baseball.
Dr. Hoff has been a member of the Business Scholarship program, now the Corporate Crimson Club, for over 20 years and made a significant financial contribution by providing the funds for the new baseball scoreboard that was installed at Owen Dougherty Field prior to the 2010 season.
In addition to his financial support, Dr. Hoff is also a vocal supporter for many IUP teams and traveled to Springfield, Mass., in March 2010 to follow the men's basketball team's pursuit of the national championship.
A graduate of Pitt-Johnstown with a doctorate from the Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr. Hoff is the president and owner of Hoff Chiropractic Clinic, which is based in Indiana with satellite offices in North Apollo, Blairsville and State College.
He graduated from Pitt-Johnstown in 1982 and was an outstanding pitcher for the Mountain Cats for three seasons. He led the nation in strikeouts per nine innings in 1981 and was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the eighth round that summer, becoming the first Pitt-Johnstown baseball player selected by a major league team.
He was a member of the inaugural class of the Pitt-Johnstown Hall of Fame and was also inducted into the Indiana County Sports Hall of Fame for his baseball exploits not only in college but as a standout in the Indiana County League for many years.
Dr. Hoff and his wife, Kim, are the parents of daughter Kaitlyn and son Ryan.
