IUP Athletic Hall of Fame
Trevor Gladden came to IUP to receive his bachelors of science in physical education. The striker became a force to be reckoned with on the pitch.
During his stint as an Indian, Gladden was named All-American, NAIA All-Tournament first team, WPISC All-Star first team, and the Pennsylvania State College All-Star team. He would also end his time at the school as a record holder for goals and assists.
The program’s first All-American selection, Gladden led the Indians to the national tournament. The season was a complete turnaround from the season before. IUP finished in sixth in the NAIA National Championship after two upsets over Mercyhurst and Alderson-Broaddus.
After graduation, he went home to England and began to play semi-pro soccer for Felixstowe Town F.C. He continued to play for 12 years.
Gladden is now retired and married to his wife Kerry. Together they have two kids, Kirsty and Aimee, and have four grandkids. Gladden was elected to the IUP Hall of Fame in 2013.
