A three-year letterman on the men’s basketball team, Crawford finished up his career at IUP as a team captain in 1967-68. He was also a winner of multiple awards in 1968, including the prestigious Regis (Peck) McKnight Award for IUP’s Outstanding Senior Athlete; the Ten Little Indians Award for Outstanding Athletic Achievement; and the Corrine Menke Scholarship Award for Athletic Achievement.
 
Earning his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from IUP in 1968, Crawford is now a math instructor and basketball and golf coach. He is the 2004 award winner of the Richard Steindel Award for Excellence in Mathematics Instruction and served on the board of trustees of the First Church of God in New Bethlehem, PA from 1988-2004.
 
He and his wife Patricia are parents to Jennifer and Weston.
